Bharath Sathya, MD
Dr. Bharath Sathya is a long time resident who was born and raised in Monmouth County. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the College of New Jersey as part of the 7 year accelerated BS/MD program. He then graduated from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey where he was awarded the humanism scholarship.
Dr. Sathya completed his internal medicine residency at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Sathya then completed his general cardiology fellowship at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He pursued an additional two years of clinical and research training at the National Institutes of Health in advanced cardiovascular imaging focusing on cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and cardiac computed tomography (CT). Dr. Sathya has gained the highest level of training in cardiac MRI and cardiac CT (level III). Additionally while at the NIH, Dr. Sathya was privileged to gain significant experience with developing research technologies including stress perfusion MRI.
Dr. Sathya has been involved in research throughout his training and particularly while at the NIH. He has presented at national and international meetings. He has also authored or co-authored multiple textbook chapters and peer reviewed publications.
Dr. Sathya is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). He is board certified or eligible in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and cardiovascular CT.
Dr. Sathya serves as the Medical Director of the Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Program at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
