Thomas J. Breen, MD

Thomas J. Breen, MD earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Villanova University. He then received his Medical Doctorate from Albany Medical College, where he was selected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He went on to complete his internal medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Following his training in internal medicine, Dr. Breen went on to complete his general cardiology fellowship at Yale, where he was selected as chief fellow by peers and staff. While at Yale, he completed an additional advanced fellowship in peripheral endovascular interventions. Dr. Breen then went to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania to complete additional subspecialty training in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease. Throughout his training, Dr. Breen has been heavily involved in research and has published over two dozen manuscripts and presented at numerous national and international conferences.
Dr. Breen is trained in the minimally invasive therapies for valvular and structural heart disease, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), transcatheter mitral valve repair (MitraClip), transcatheter tricuspid valve repair/replacement, transcatheter valve-in-valve therapy, paravalvular leak closure, and closure of patent foramen ovale/atrial septal defect. He is further trained in interventions involving complex coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, cardiogenic shock, and pulmonary embolism.
Dr. Breen is board certified in Internal Medicine (ABIM), Cardiovascular Disease (ABIM), Adult Echocardiography (NBE), and Vascular Ultrasound and Vascular Interpretation (APCA RPVI).
