Ziad Sergie, MD
Dr. Ziad Sergie received his undergraduate degree from Brown University in Providence, RI. He obtained his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA where he also obtained an MBA in healthcare management.
Dr. Sergie completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, NY. He then continued at Mount Sinai for an additional year of subspecialization in cardiovascular imaging (cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), and Echocardiography).
Dr. Sergie has achieved the highest level of training (Level 3) in cardiac MRI, CT angiography, and Echocardiography. He has acquired special expertise in cardiac MRI and has been appointed director of the cardiovascular MRI program at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
He has also been actively involved in research, spending one year as a research fellow with the interventional cardiology group at Mount Sinai. He has authored or co-authored numerous abstracts, editorials and manuscripts and he has presented at national and international cardiology meetings. He has authored or co-authored four book chapters. He was a finalist for the NY State ACC Young Investigator’s Award in 2014.
Dr. Sergie is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is board certified in Echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography, board certified in Nuclear Cardiology by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, and board certified in cardiovascular CT by the Certification Board of Cardiovascular CT. He is a member of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance and the American Society of Echocardiography. He has been elected fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
